چکیده

A chemo-mechanical model is presented for the simulation of biogenic sulphide corrosion in concrete sewer pipes. The chemical formulated terms a system coupled diffusion-reaction equations, which describe processes calcium hydroxide dissolution, silicate hydrate dissolution and gypsum formation. problem two-way with mechanical that captures damage caused by deformations, set numerical analyses illustrates realistically simulates growth layer consequent development material. validation experiment performed mimics process corrosion, from it confirmed adequately both shape experimental profile square root time depth.

A poroplastic model for hygro-chemo-mechanical damage of concrete

The paper proposes an analytical model for calcium leaching of concrete due to water. The model is set in the framework of chemically active saturated porous media. Continuum damage mechanics is used in order to develop a phenomenological poroplastic model of concrete. Two forms of damaging processes are included: mechanical, modelled with two scalar damage internal variables; chemical, related...

investigating the feasibility of a proposed model for geometric design of deployable arch structures

deployable scissor type structures are composed of the so-called scissor-like elements (sles), which are connected to each other at an intermediate point through a pivotal connection and allow them to be folded into a compact bundle for storage or transport. several sles are connected to each other in order to form units with regular polygonal plan views. the sides and radii of the polygons are...

Chemo-mechanical model for skeletal muscle contraction

Generation of force in skeletal muscle tissue depends on both chemical and mechanical phenomena. In this work, considering the kinetics of cross bridges, a one dimensional model has been proposed for predicting the isometric force according to the intracellular calcium ion distribution. Introduction The different ways of skeletal muscle activation lead to the formation of cross bridges (XB) acc...

Corrosion-Induced Concrete Cracking Model Considering Corrosion-Filled Paste

A TCP–TCL model is established to describe the relationship between the thickness of the corrosion-filled paste (CP) and that of the corrosion layer (CL). This model can describe the phenomenon that the corrosion filling in the concrete pores and accumulating at the steel/concrete interface occur synchronously. Based on the TCP–TCL model, a corrosion-induced concrete cracking model, which can q...

A chemo-mechanical model of lithiation in silicon

We present a chemo-mechanical model to investigate the lithiation-induced phase transformation, morphological evolution, stress generation and fracture in crystalline silicon nanowires (c-SiNWs). The model couples lithium (Li) diffusion with elasto-plastic deformation in a three-dimensional (3D) setting. Several key features observed from recent transmission electron microscopy (TEM) studies ar...
